Privacy Policy

  1. Introductory Provisions

    The data controller in compliance with Article 4 (7) of the Regulation 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (hereinafter referred to as the  “GDPR”), is Multilink, s.r.o., Company ID No.: 07613288 , recorded in the Commercial Register administered by the Municipal Court in Prague, Section C, Inset No. 304056, the company operating the online dating site MeetYou (hereinafter referred to as “MeetYou“),
    • with its registered seat at Zlonínská 253, Mratín, Postcode 250 63 (hereinafter referred to as the “Data Controller”). 
    • Contact details of the Data Controller are: Zlonínská 253, Mratín, Postcode 250 63, email address: info@meetyou.cz.
    • Personal data means all information concerning an identified or identifiable natural person; an identifiable natural person is such a natural person who may be identified directly or indirectly, especially by means of a link to a certain identifier, such as a name, ID number, data on location, network identifier or one or more special elements concerning the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of this natural person.

  2. Sources and Categories of Processed Personal Data

    • The Data Controller processes personal data provided by you or personal data collected within the fulfilment of service provision. 
    • The Data Controller processes your identification and contact details and data necessary for the fulfilment of the contractual relation. 
    • All personal data we collect and process belong to the following three categories: 
      • data provided by you personally
      • data collected by us automatically 
      • data collected from third parties
    • Personal data is often processed solely in its anonymised form.

  3. Legal Grounds and Purpose of Personal Data Processing

    • The legal grounds for personal data processing are 
      • Fulfilment of the contractual relation between you and the Data Controller pursuant to Article 6 (1) (b) of the GDPR,
      • Legitimate interest of the Data Controller in the provision of direct marketing (including but not limited to sending commercial communications and newsletters) pursuant to Article 6 (1) (f) of the GDPR.
      • Your consent with processing for the purposes of direct marketing (including but not limited to sending commercial communications and newsletters) pursuant to Article 6 (1) (a) of the GDPR in connection with Section 7 (2) of Act No. 480/2004 Sb., on certain services of information society, in the event that the service has not been used.
    • The purpose of personal data processing is 
      • To secure the fulfilment of the contractual relation within the service provision of the MeetYou online dating site and the performance of rights and obligations arising from the contractual relation between you and the Data Controller; 
      • Management of statistical evidence 
      • Negotiations on contract conclusion or on amendment to contracts 
      • Sending commercial communications and performance of other marketing activities. 
      • Within the registration process, the following personal data provision is mandatory: 
        • name or nickname, 
        • email address (not to be disclosed, email address serves solely for profile verification and for communication of the provider with the customer),
        • mobile phone number (not to be disclosed, mobile phone number serves solely for profile verification),
        • date of birth (not to be disclosed, solely the age of the user will be visible) 
        • sex, 
        • height in cm, 
        • body-build (customer will select one of the default options),
        • sexual orientation,
        • location,
        • one portrait photograph.
      • During the registration or later on, the following non-mandatory data may also be provided: 
        • marital status, 
        • data on children, whether you have/don’t have children, or alternatively whether you plan/don’t plan to have children, 
        • personality type, 
        • life values, 
        • information on smoking, 
        • information on alcohol drinking, 
        • dietary restrictions, 
        • highest attained education, 
        • native language, 
        • other language knowledge, 
        • hobbies, 
        • sports, 
        • favourite books, 
        • favourite music, 
        • favourite films, 
        • dream holiday, 
        • pets,
        • other photographs or a video (only available to Premium members).
      • Internal data of the Data Controller: customer ID number, membership type, application platform, application and operating system version, email address, telephone number. 
      • Within the Premium membership, the following data is also collected and processed: 
        • Mandatory data: Premium membership does not require any other mandatory data provision. 
        • Non-mandatory data: Premium membership does not require any other non-mandatory data provision. 
        • Internal data: payment details. 
      • The provision of personal data is a prerequisite for the conclusion and fulfilment of the contractual relation; without the provision of the personal data, it is not possible to conclude the contract or fulfil it by the Data Controller,
    • No automatic individual decisions are to be made by the Data Controller within the meaning of Article 22 of the GDPR.

  4. Data Storage Term

    • The Data Controller stores the personal data
      • for the term necessary for the performance of rights and obligations arising from the contractual relation between you and the Data Controller and asserting claims arising from such contractual relations (at maximum for 10 years of termination of the contractual relation). 
      • for the term until the consent to personal data processing for the purposes of marketing is withdrawn, at maximum for 5 years provided that the personal data is processed based on the consent. 
    • Upon the lapse of the storage term, the Data Controller will erase the personal data.

  5. Recipients of Personal Data (Subcontractors of Data Controller)

    • The recipients of personal data are persons 
      • contributing to the service provision and to the payment realisation based on the contractual relation, 
      • ensuring the operation of MeetYou and of other associated services, 
      • ensuring marketing service. 
    • The Data Controller may transfer the personal data to a third country (country outside the EU) or to an international organisation. Recipients of personal data in third countries are the providers of mailing or cloud services.

  6. Your Rights

    • Under the terms stipulated by the GDPR, you have the 
      • right of access to your personal data pursuant to Article 15 of the GDPR, 
      • right to rectification of personal data pursuant to Article 16 of the GDPR, or the right to restriction of personal data processing pursuant to Article 18 of the GDPR, 
      • right to erasure of personal data pursuant to Article 17 of the GDPR, 
      • right to object to the processing of personal data pursuant to Article 21 of the GDPR, and 
      • right to data portability pursuant to Article 20 of the GDPR, 
      • right to withdraw your consent with processing in writing or by email using the address or email address of the Data Controller set forth in Article III hereof. 
    • Furthermore, you have the right to file a complaint with the Office for Personal Data Protection in the event that you assume that your right to protect your personal data may have been breached.

  7. Terms of Personal Data Securing

    • The Data Controller declares to have adopted all suitable technical and organisational measures to ensure the security of personal data. 
    • The Data Controller has adopted technical measures to secure the data warehouses. All personal data provided to MeetYou is confidential, it is password-protected and its transfer between the service provider and you is encrypted. 
    • The Data Controller declares that solely persons authorised by the Data Controller have access to the personal data.

  8. Final Provisions

    • By completing your registration in the MeetYou application, you confirm to have become familiarised with the Privacy Policy and that you accept the Privacy Policy in full. 
    • You grant your consent herewith by ticking the relevant icon via the Mobile App. 
    • The Data Controller may amend this Privacy Policy. Any new version of the Privacy Policy will be published by the Data Controller at its website, or the Data Controller will send you the new version hereof to the email address you have provided to the Data Controller.

This Policy becomes effective on 1 January 2020.
